Suzie Slipper is a bridal embroidery designer, living and working in Cambridge, UK. Since graduating she has gained experience at William Vintage, Hermione de Paula, Hand & Lock and Eden B Studio and has a background working as a bridal stylist.

“Hello! A very warm welcome to my website and huge congratulations if you're recently engaged! I’m Suzie, designer and embroiderer of personalised veils (and am a HUGE fan of a fab pair of bridal trousers - yes, here I am goofing around at the evening reception of our wedding!). I love interacting with brides to be and discovering what special touches I can embroider onto their veil to make it truly unique to them! Personal connection and communicating symbolism is at the heart of what I do - lace is usually manufactured on a large scale and cut from a roll, but bridal embroidery celebrates sentiment and sustainable craftsmanship. Personalising veils reflects the significance and emotion that surrounds a wedding day, and it really is a privilege to be a part of a bride’s special day in this way.”

Sustainability is at the heart of Suzie’s work - the artwork is designed by Suzie and every single veil is handmade to order and embroidered by Suzie in her studio in Cambridge using fine quality materials. Each veil is a wearable work of art that can be passed down from generation to generation as a treasured heirloom.

In 2019 Suzie sketched the wildflowers that grow in her favourite place in the world and used these sketches to create the embroidery design for her own wedding dress.

“Embroidering my wedding dress was such a special experience that made me want to share that same joy of having bespoke bridal embroidery that is truly unique to the wearer. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path has always been a special place for me, with beautiful wildflowers that cover the cliff edges and I knew that they would make the perfect motifs in a design that was uniquely my own. Each flower was sketched, stitched and hand-appliqued to create an intricate, hand-crafted dress that I will treasure forever!”
